[hr] Opis:

“Nemoj sanjariti.

On prilazi umjetniku straga, time simbolizirajući nevidljivu podršku i izvor umjetnikova nadahnuća.

Ovdje tri muze nadahnjuju umjetnika – Euterpa kroz glazbu i lirsku poeziju, Erato kroz ljubavnu poeziju i Terpsihora kroz ples.

“Do not daydream. Come down from the clouds. You cannot live from art. Do it as your hobby in your free time, but find a normal, real job.” In such way artists are perceived by the world… or at least by those who work for a “safe” salary at a 9-17 job. And that is – majority. And artists know how to terrorize themselves too, burdened by the pressures of their surroundings and the “starving artist” archetype.

In this digital collage, the artist is depicted laying on the sofa and contemplating about nothing in order to give birth to new artistic ideas from that emptiness. He is surrounded by four people who at first glance can represent the spouse, parents, family or friends. There is a noticeable male figure who approaches the artist with a torrent of thoughts in an effort to convince him to “get off his ass and get a job”. This character can also be the mind of the artist himself, the background voice that constantly tells him he has a wrong attitude towards “the things that really matter in life”.

In reality, that character is Apollo, the god of light, inspiration, art, beauty, and prediction (visionary), associated with Sun. He approaches the artist behind, thus symbolizing the invisible support and source of artist’s inspiration. His creative ideas “flick out” of his head like the rays of the Sun, emphasizing that art brings light to artists’s life and to the lives of other people.

According to Greek mythology, Apollo is the leader of the Muses. The three Muses inspire artist – Euterpe through music and lyric poetry, Erato through love poetry, and Terpsichore through dance.

The whole scene is displaced from the urban landscape to nature in order to emphasize the artist’s connection with nature, through whose beauty influences “of the gods and muses” are expressed.
